Veterans Independence Program home care
Veterans Affairs Canada administers the Veterans Independence Program (VIP), which can help eligible veterans pay for home support services including housekeeping and personal care. We encourage families to ask us about VIP funding and how to explore eligibility with Veterans Affairs Canada.
Whether a veteran qualifies for VIP or chooses private-pay care, our personal care team and free in-home assessment are a good place to start.
Trusted home care for over 35 years
As part of the Integracare family, we have served Ontario families for over 35 years. We hold ISO 9001:2015 certification, Excellence Canada recognition, and Great Place to Work Certification.
Our caregivers are trained through Nevvon and screened through Vulnerable Sector Screening. They are supported by a nurse they can call at any time, so families have peace of mind around the clock.

Frequently asked questions
What does home care for veterans include?
Our caregivers help with personal care such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, as well as mobility, medication reminders, meal preparation, companionship, and light housekeeping. Care plans are built by a nurse and adjusted over time.
What is the Veterans Independence Program and who qualifies?
The Veterans Independence Program (VIP) is a Veterans Affairs Canada program that helps eligible veterans remain at home independently. It can fund services such as housekeeping and grounds maintenance. Eligibility is determined by Veterans Affairs Canada based on the veteran's service history and health needs. Contact Veterans Affairs Canada directly, or ask us and we will point you to the right resources.
Does VIP cover housekeeping and personal care?
The VIP can cover housekeeping and grounds maintenance services for eligible veterans. Some veterans may also access personal care support through Veterans Affairs Canada programs. We encourage families to confirm current coverage directly with Veterans Affairs Canada, as benefit details can change.
Can you help us understand the paperwork and application process?
We can help your family understand what the VIP program covers and point you toward the Veterans Affairs Canada resources for applying. We are not a VAC-contracted provider, but we are happy to support families through the information-gathering stage.
What if the veteran is not eligible for VIP or prefers not to apply?
We offer premium private-pay home care for veterans who are not eligible for VIP, or who prefer a private arrangement. Our free in-home assessment is a good starting point to understand your options and build a care plan.
