In-Hospital & Hospital-to-Home Care
A familiar caregiver at the hospital bedside, and a safe, coordinated transition home. Private in-hospital care across Toronto, the GTA, and Ottawa, with nurse-led oversight throughout.

Support at the bedside and all the way home
We cover two distinct needs: keeping your loved one safe and comfortable during a hospital stay, and making sure the journey home goes smoothly.
Bedside Companionship
A consistent caregiver keeps your loved one company, helps at mealtimes, watches for changes, and is a calm, familiar presence when family cannot be there.
Nurse-Led Oversight
A registered nurse builds the care plan, briefs the caregiver, and stays available throughout the stay and discharge so nothing falls through the cracks.
Safe Transition Home
We arrange transport, set up the home for a safe return, confirm medications, and stay on for follow-up personal care so recovery starts on the right foot.

A nurse behind every plan
All hospital and discharge care at Living Assistance Services is overseen by a registered nurse. Our nurse builds the care plan before the caregiver arrives, stays in contact with your family during the stay, and guides the transition home to make sure nothing is missed.
Hospital care connects naturally with our personal care services at home, and we work alongside Ontario Health atHome when public funding is in place. To start, book a free in-home assessment and our team will take it from there.
Trusted by Ontario families for over 35 years
As part of the Integracare family, we have supported Ontario families since 1988. Families choose us for consistent, nurse-led care, carefully matched caregivers, and the reliability that matters most when a loved one is in hospital.
Our caregivers are Nevvon-trained, screened through Vulnerable Sector checks, and backed by registered nursing oversight. We hold ISO 9001:2015 certification, Great Place to Work recognition, and an Excellence Canada award, and we are a provider within the Ontario Health atHome network.

Frequently asked questions
Why hire a private caregiver when the hospital has nurses?
Hospital nurses are responsible for medical care across multiple patients. A private caregiver is there solely for your loved one: keeping them company, helping with meals, watching for changes, and making sure the family is kept informed. It is one-on-one attention the ward cannot provide.
What does a hospital bedside companion actually do?
Our caregivers sit with the client, assist with eating and drinking, help with repositioning and comfort, speak with nursing staff when something changes, and provide a calm and familiar presence throughout the shift. They follow a care plan built by our registered nurse.
Can a caregiver stay overnight at the hospital?
Yes. We offer daytime, evening, and overnight shifts, including 12-hour and live-in coverage for extended stays. The caregiver is there through the night to provide reassurance, assist with repositioning, and alert staff if anything changes.
How do you help someone get home safely after a hospital discharge?
We coordinate directly with the discharge team. Our caregiver arranges or accompanies the transport, helps settle the client at home, confirms that medications are in order, sets up any safety aids needed, and then stays on for personal care support during recovery. We also liaise with Ontario Health atHome if funded community services are in place.
How quickly can you have a caregiver in place?
In most cases we can place a caregiver within 24 to 48 hours of your first call. Contact us at 1.855.483.2273 and our care team will assess the situation and confirm availability the same day.
