One-on-one sessions that build real progress
Our physiotherapists are registered professionals who assess, plan, and deliver care in the home. Sessions are one-on-one and scheduled around the person's routine. Each visit builds on the last, with exercises and techniques adapted as strength and mobility improve.
Physiotherapy works well alongside personal care support, which can help clients stay active between sessions. If you are considering home physio, a free in-home assessment is the place to start.

Frequently asked questions
What does in-home physiotherapy cover?
In-home physiotherapy covers mobility and strength assessment, balance and fall-prevention training, post-surgery and post-stroke rehabilitation, pain and stiffness management, and personalized exercise programs. The registered physiotherapist builds a plan around the person's goals and adjusts it as they progress.
Who benefits from home physiotherapy for seniors?
Home physiotherapy is well suited to older adults who have had a fall or are at risk of falling, those recovering from hip or knee replacement, stroke survivors working on movement and function, and anyone managing chronic joint pain, stiffness, or reduced mobility. Receiving care at home removes the challenge of travelling to a clinic.
Can physiotherapy start after hip or knee surgery, or after a stroke?
Yes. Post-surgical and post-stroke rehabilitation are two of the most common reasons families arrange home physiotherapy. The registered physiotherapist works from the discharge instructions provided by the hospital and coordinates with your medical team throughout recovery.
How many physiotherapy visits will I need?
The number of visits depends on the person's condition, goals, and rate of progress. The physiotherapist outlines an expected program at the initial assessment and reviews it regularly. Many clients reach their goals in six to twelve sessions; others continue with maintenance visits for ongoing strength and balance work.
Do I need a doctor's referral for in-home physiotherapy?
A referral is not required to arrange in-home physiotherapy through Living Assistance Services. You can call us directly or book a free in-home assessment online. If your insurer requires a physician's referral for reimbursement, we can advise on how to obtain one.
