For Sylvia, being a homecare franchise owner has been a lifelong dream. She worked as a PSW while pursuing her post-secondary education to become a registered nurse. Though being a PSW was not easy at times, she loved the one-on-one interaction with clients, as opposed to employment in a clinical setting. In this work, she was able to express her profound care for people, which is at the heart of her practice.
After graduating, Sylvia went into community and hospital nursing, gaining expertise in areas ranging from birth to palliative care. As a caregiver, she is committed to making the later years of life comfortable, transitionally familiar, and as autonomous as possible, while giving care recipients the dignity and respect they deserve. She wants to ensure that clients and their families feel comforted, peaceful, assured, and safe.
