December is just days away, and many families are busy getting ready for the holiday season while balancing work, parenting, social obligations and caring for their aging relatives. It’s a lot to keep track of, but our team is here to help with a few simple reminders. Thanks for reading and for trusting us with your loved one’s care. We’re honoured to assist your family!
Let us know about schedule changes
Let’s start with a friendly reminder: if you need to change, cancel or add a shift for any reason, please contact us as soon as possible. The Living Assistance Services care team would be happy to help you make these changes to ensure that your schedule matches ours and everyone is on the same page. It’s easy to lose track of these things during the busy holiday season, but we do our best to communicate with clients and families in order to make sure their needs are met. Thanks for your help with this!
Book respite care if required
Seniors often receive a significant amount of support from family members and sometimes, those individuals are unavailable for a period of time. If you have travel plans or temporarily cannot support your aging loved ones for other reasons, please contact us to discuss respite care. We’d be glad to fill the gaps in your schedule with a skilled, dedicated caregiver. Living Assistance Services also offers part-time, daily, 24-hour and convalescent care options with no long-term obligation. Book a caregiver as often or as little as you need—our PSWs are here to help, no matter what that looks like for your family.
Make your holiday gatherings accessible
We covered this topic back in the spring, but it’s important information to remember year round. If you’re celebrating Christmas, Hannukah, Kwanzaa or other special occasions with family, be sure to consider the accessibility and dietary needs of your aging loved ones. We’ve got some great tips in our previous blog post—please take a moment to review it now!
